Tupelo Young Professionals is a networking organization of active, ambitious young professionals in the Tupelo/Lee County area. Participants must range in age from 21-40.
Objectives of TYP

- Provide education and professional development
- Provide an understanding of the community
- W ork to retain young professionals in the Tupelo/Lee County area
- Contribute to and improve the community
- Create a more diversified base of social activities in the Tupelo/Lee County area
TYP Committees
TYP offers four committees for young professionals to help steer the direction of the networking group. Committees meet monthly at the Renasant Center for IDEAs, Tupelo/Lee County’s Regional business incubator. To join a TYP committee, simply e-mail your committee selection to TYP@cdfms.org.
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE – Chairman, Sims Meredith
The membership committee will oversee the growth and development of the Tupelo Young Professionals. The committee’s main focus will be to recruit and retain TYP members.
The Membership Committee will meet the first Tuesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. in the training room at the Renasant Center for IDEAs.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE – Chairman, Matt Gillis
The professional development committee will be responsible for planning and promoting professional development events for the TYPs. Such events will include luncheons and stand alone events to promote professional development.
The Professional Development Committee will meet the second Wednesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. in the training room at the Renasant Center for IDEAs.
SERVICE PROJECTS COMMITTEE -
Chairman, Sara Hart Fellows
The service project committee will plan and organize service projects for the Tupelo Young Professionals. They will schedule service projects to coincide with TYP after hours events and stand alone events.
The Service Projects Committee will meet the third Tuesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. in the training room at the Renasant Center for IDEAs.
SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE -
Chairman, Kaycee Burrell
The special events committee will plan and organize after hours events and other special events of the Tupelo Young Professionals. This committee will help find and recruit sponsors for TYP events.
The Special Events Committee will meet the fourth Wednesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. in the training room at the Renasant Center for IDEAs.
